Is it just more or is the news trying to send us into a panic? The only stories they cover are devastation to pound fear into us. They make it so we believe nothing is safe. Put your fork down! Your burger may have mad cow disease! Don’t go outside, a tornado will sweep you up into the land of Oz! Careful driving, there are kids on a spree throwing rocks at cars! Wait! There are raccoon with rabies taking over the neighborhood! Camping tonight? NO! WEST NILE! WEST NILE! Getting the flu vaccine? Don’t bother, a new strain of the flu is impossible to overcome. Don’t go grocery shopping! You never know if the entire aisle will topple over on top of you! A light covering of snow is expected to fall overnight! Be sure to stock up on mass amounts of food and toilet paper today!!! Like c’mon people. Beating fear into us is getting a little old. How many of us, including me, turn on the news, hear of multiple stabbings and shootings, and completely ignore it as if your TV was on mute? We are all becoming numb to it.
Preferably, I would much rather hear stories of local pets in shelters getting adopted, or about local volunteers making a difference, or I don’t know…not death? Ew, what a morbid world we live in. To me, it’s not NEWS if it isn’t NEW to me. Same crap over and over again, just in different places with different people.
Careful being on your computer reading my blogs! The screen light may cause you to go blind and typing will give you carpal tunnel, but don’t worry, that burger from McDonalds you are consuming is perfectly safe. No Worries 🙂
