Welp, I haven’t been updating my current status on playing my guitar like I originally wanted to. I haven’t exactly had all the time in the world to play, either. I’ve lately been scheduling time for it now because I hate seeing it lonely in my room wanting me to play it. This past week, I’ve definitely been getting into playing it to the point it now hurts my fingers just typing this.
It, of course, is pretty discouraging to play and feels like I’m not getting anywhere at the moment. It’s like singers doing nothing but la la la la las and me me me me mes for hours before actually singing words. I’m learning the basics and starting from nothing. I’ve chosen to self-teach myself with help from friends since I don’t have the time nor the funding for lessons.
Progress is surprisingly, well, progressive. I first started playing a couple bits of songs requiring just one string/finger at a time, and not any chords for the fun of it. Now, I’m actually taking the time to learn my chords and use them to play songs the right way. The first and current song I’ve been working on is Lightning Crashes by Live. A video will follow soon, but not yet because I’m just learning the flow of playing without breaks between repositioning my hands.
There it is. Where I’m at right now. I can’t wait for the day where I can just mindlessly play a song and my fingers get used to playing for more than just an hour.
